Our responsibility to the environment
- by taking into account environmental, sustainable and social issues that are applicable to purchase decisions of goods and services
- by reducing our volume of waste to landfill, implement sound waste management practices, reduce the consumption of all materials and wherever practicable, to actively encourage and enforce recycling and re-use both construction and occupation
- by implementing modern low energy methods of construction whilst being less wasteful, more efficient and reducing maintenance requirements
- by endeavouring to attain ‘Good’ and preferably ‘Best’ practice targets for energy consumption
- by ensuring that materials are properly specified for use, taking account that the choice conforms to, where possible: lifecycle costing, avoiding a depletion of non renewable natural resources, low embodied energy and being non-toxic to both internal and external environment
